1. 110 OPERATION MANAGEMENT I E 110 Menjawab Masalah Apa Kualitas merupakan persyaratan yang dituntut konsumen dari perusahaan atau organisasi. Persaingan yang semakin ketat menuntut organisasi/ perusahaan selalu meningkatkan kualitas barang/jasa yang dihasilkan dengan tingkat biaya yang optimum. Meningkatkan kualitas ini merupakan tanggungjawab seluruh bagian di dalam organisasi/perusahaan. Oleh karena itu perlu dibentuk suatu budaya kerja dan cara pikir terintegrasi di dalam organisasi mengenai tujuan dan kontrol kualitas, serta mengurangi biaya proses di dalam organisasi sekaligus meningkatkan kepuasan konsumen.
